My lovelies:

You (women, ladies, gals, chicks, girls, skirts, broads)* are cordially invited to join me and my experienced guide friends on an Alpine hiking adventure.

Hike With Me: A Women’s Hike on the Tour de Mont Blanc

Please come with me to Switzerland for 8 days in June, 2013. We will stay in fancy schmancy chalets. We will hike our little booties off. We will enjoy quiet time at our hotels in the evenings, or rowdy times if we so desire, because we can. We will hike select portions of the Tour de Mont Blanc in France, Switzerland and Italy. And it shall be good.

Here you can find out more about the guides and how they do what they do. Take a peek at this photo gallery. See the full itinerary here.

Our daily hikes will be around 15k, and are called modest to strenuous, ascending up to 2000 meters. Anyone can take a day off at any time. We can shift things around as weather and our group needs.

We plan to center the trip around some themes from my book “Run With Me…” like community, grace and growth.

The towns we will visit during our trip, from June 9 through June16:
Chamonix, FR
Les Contamines-Montjoie, FR
Les Mottets, FR
Courmayeur, IT
Champex, SW
Argentiere, FR
Chamonix, FR

We need a final headcount by December, so please let me know what information you need and how I can convince you to Hike With Me. I’d love you to join me.

cost: about $3250, plus airfare and personal purchases

*For the trip, we are keeping it closed to women only. Sorry dudes.

  1. Sounds gorgeous – but we’ve already got two great trips planned for next year. And I don’t think I could manage the combo of elevation and steep climbing. So I’ll live vicariously on this one.

    1. Jennifer, that is a good question. I will find out about the whens, but as to flights, I haven’t looked at them yet. It is going to depend on which airport people fly out of and when they book tickets. I am thinking I’m going to have to get the kids to my parents’ in Florida and go from there? Not sure.

  2. Top 10 Reasons Women Might Want to Consider This Trip:
    10. If you go, you will make a friend named Francois. And, as Jennifer has often pointed it, everyone should have a friend named Francois.
    9. You get to hike into Switzerland. You know what they keep in Switzerland? Swiss chocolate, baby!
    8. Joy, one of the co-leaders, is an artist at packing tail lunches. This ain’t no gorp and granola thing, ladies.
    7. You can dwell in God’s presence anywhere–in your pajamas in front of your computer, or in the Alps. Who really needs more days in her pajamas in front of the computer?
    6. You can get in touch with your inner Julie Andrews and twirl in an alpine meadow. Or yodel No one will judge you.
    5. If I can do this, anyone can do this. And I don’t even like hiking.
    4. You get to act quite cosmopolitan and say things like, “Bon Jour, fromage, and aperitif.
    3. Google raclette. Then imagine sitting in an open air cafe in France eating it. With Jennifer Luitweiler.Who is one of my my most favorite people I’ve never met. And probably not imaginary.
    2. While you may have sung Sunday School songs about God owning the cattle on a thousand hills, it’s so much cooler when you see them at the top of Alpine hills.
And, the number one reason for signing up for this trip:
    1. No matter what you think you know or believe, by walking around in it, you will go deeper. I promise. 🙂

  3. Wow! This is an awesome idea! I really don’t think I’d be able to swing it, but it sounds amazing. By the way, I just started reading Run With Me and I’m hooked. 🙂
